LAMENT: THE MASSACRE OF GLENCOE (LARGE CAST VERSION)
This lively, haunting script is a perfect vehicle for those wishing to do a school or cross age community show, that has history, tragedy and beauty at it’s heart. Lament doesn’t just tell the story of the infamous massacre, it brings to life the people and time who were the story. With a tough humour at its Highland heart, Lament is also bittersweet like the mountain landscape it is set in. With Gaelic song and new music by Chaz Stewart.
Best performed by: Adults, teens and children. Great choice for a large school or community show.
Suitable for classroom script reading? Yes, but best done in conjunction with the music.

Running Time: 1 hour 30 minutes, plus interval
Cast: 30 – as many as you like (we used nearly a hundred!), of all ages, male and female depending how you want to stage it.
Sound & Light: Live or recorded. Music CD available. Good lighting effects needed.
Singing and Dancing: Gaelic Songs (we may be able to help you with this!) and some English songs. Opportunities for Highland based dance, ballet and gymnastics.
Set: Can be done with painted backdrops or back projection.
Costume, Hair and Make up: Late 17th century plus redcoat uniforms and props. We can point you where to hire these.
